Ferrus Manus, often referred to as Iron Hands, was the Primarch of the Iron Hands Space Marine Legion. He was one of the twenty superhuman sons of the Emperor of Mankind, created in a secret gene-laboratory and scattered across the galaxy as infants.
Found on the death world of Medusa, Ferrus Manus inherited a planet steeped in conflict and technological prowess. He quickly united the warring clans and established a powerful, technologically advanced society. He was known for his mastery of metalworking, hence his metallic hands, which he'd acquired while fighting a xenos beast. He also disdained weakness in all its forms, pushing himself and his Legion to extremes of discipline and self-reliance.
During the Great Crusade, Ferrus Manus was reunited with the Emperor and led his Iron Hands alongside the Imperial forces. His unwavering loyalty and exceptional combat skills made him a valuable asset. However, his rigid adherence to logic and his disdain for weakness often put him at odds with his more emotionally driven brothers.
Tragically, Ferrus Manus was killed during the Dropsite Massacre on Istvaan V, betrayed by his brother, Fulgrim, who had fallen to the temptations of Chaos. His death was a devastating blow to the loyalist forces and left the Iron Hands scarred and obsessed with avenging their Primarch. This traumatic event shaped the Legion's subsequent actions and beliefs, driving them further down a path of cybernetic augmentation and emotional detachment.
